Communities

The Lahn-Dill-Kreis is an administrational district with a surface of 1066 km² and a population of 257.000 people living in 23 towns and municipalities. The Refuse Industry Lahn-Dill organize the disposal of household and industrial refuse for the communities*.These ones collect the charges for the disposal of refuse and pass them on to the Kreis. In any community there are people in charge of the topic "refuse".

* The Kreisstadt ("capital" of a Kreis) Wetzlar disposes of refuse statutes of its own and with the town cleaning of Wetzlar (Stadtreinigung) it has installed a refuse industry enterprise of its own which is responsible for the disposal of waste within the town and boroughs.
