FAQ
Bin not emptied. What can I do?
Leave your bin at the roadside first, since it may only deal with a delay. Then inform our waste adviser at phone no. 06441 407-1818. He will contact the responsible diposal enterprise for you and resolve the facts of the case.
Bin defective. How can it be replaced?
Phone your local community; they will organize the free replacement of the bin. The competent container service will usually bring you the new bin within a few days and take away the defective bin (incl. its contents).
Where do I get yellow bags?
Once a year, the hired disposal company distributes two rolls consisting of 15 bags each to all households in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis. Moreover, you can get free yellow bags at your local administrations in towns and villages.
Can I get a bigger bin for organic refuse?
According to the Refuse Statutes, a big brown bin (240 l) is designated for households made up of a minimum of four people. Smaller households can get a bigger container on demand, but they have to pay for the additional charges.
How can I dispose bulky refuse?
Twice a year, every household in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis can dispose its bulky refuse without any cost. Registration will be accepted by the hired disposal company at phone no. 02771 800474 or sperrabfall@fehr.de
Where to can I take my energy-saving bulbs?
Energy-saving bulbs cannot be thrown into the residual refuse bin, since they belong to electric scrap. In the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, there are collecting places for electric scrap in Asslar (Refuse Industry Centre), Wetzlar (GWAB) and Oberscheld (SITA). Moreover, the vehicle collecting harmful substances takes back energy-saving bulbs. In many cases, the markets also take back these bulbs.
What about the refuse charges in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis ?
In the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, per inhabitant they levy a refuse charge amounting to 84,72 €. As of the second child (children in the sense of income tax purposes) they do not levy any charges for children. For enterprises, dependent on the number of staff members, they have fixed so-called "Einwohnergleichwerte" (values equalising the number of inhabitants) (EGW) in order to calculate the refuse charges.
