Using

Within the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, every year some 1500 t of old electric and electronic appliances are being collected. The larger household appliances and smaller electric appliances are being used by the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung, Ausbildungs- und Beschäftigungsinitiativen (GWAB ) in Wetzlar, where these appliances are dismantled and the thus gained fractions of reusable materials are again entered into the material cycle. Moreover, repairable appliances are being repaired, spare parts are being removed and offered at the second-hand department store of the GWAB. The remaining electric scrap, among which we will find cooling appliances, entertainment electronics and gas-discharging lamps, will be supplied to the ear (foundation for old electric appliances-register) for re-using.
