Using

In the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, every year some 37.000 tons of organic waste are being collected. These quantities are being taken to the three composting facilities in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis that are being operated by e.on Mitte Natur GmbH. The facilities are situated in Asslar-Bechlingen, Dillenburg-Oberscheld and Greifenstein-Beilstein.

In the composting facility, organic waste is being cut up and homogenized and afterwards actively ventilated in rotting boxes. The product of these rotting boxes is called raw compost and more than 80% of it are being used in the agriculture of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis and directly spread onto the fields. A small part of the raw compost gets into the follow-up rotting process to be grafted as finished compost.
